## v0.2.42 — 2026-09-23
**Pick an icon, then its colours.** Settings → Appearance → Logo has two steps now. First the icon:
the pl mark, or one of nine new ones — the blue horn (yes, that one), an @ that turns into a
posthorn, a love letter, airmail, a happy envelope, snail mail, a mailbox with its flag up, a
postage stamp and a wax seal. Then its colours: every new icon starts in its own, and any of the
thirty-two colourways can repaint it. Each icon decides which of its parts take a colourway, so the
love letter's heart stays red, the airmail stripes stay red and blue and the snail stays green.
- **The top bar, the tab and the phone all wear it.** The web draws every icon in every colourway
when it is asked for — nothing is stored per combination — and the Android app (0.0.25) builds its
launcher icons when it is compiled.
- **For JMAP clients:** `Appearance` reports `logoMotif` and `logoPaint`, both read-only, and the
Session lists `logoMotifs`. `logoStyle` means what it always did, for clients that predate this.
### Before you upgrade
- One migration runs on boot and adds two columns to the appearance settings. Nothing changes for
anybody until they pick a new icon: everyone keeps the pl mark they had.
